Cover Model Corner Interview With Chase Borst

randyphoto

I’m excited to be interviewing Chase Borst on Cover Model Corner today. I met Chase in May at the Weekend With the Authors in Nashville, TN this year and he graciously agreed to an interview.Chase, what was the first cover you appeared on and how did this come about?

My first cover was Roping Him In by Sidda Lee Rain.

Michel Prince is an author and owner of Royal Touch Photography. She worked out at the gym that I worked at a few years back. She approached me one day and asked if I would be interested in doing a photoshoot with her for images that could potentially be used as book covers. I agreed and things just progressed from there. I honestly had no clue what I was getting myself into or what the outcome would be but I have met a lot of really cool people and had some pretty awesome experiences since I started.

If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you most want to go? What sort of shoot would it be?

Somewhere tropical for sure. I would really love to go to Kenya. The beaches look amazing. I think I would like to do a romantic shoot with my significant other. Besides their beaches the inland backdrop of Kenya is cool too. I would probably want to do daytime photos with both backdrops, hoping for some giraffes or elephants in the shot. And of course some sunset photos inland, as well as on the beach.

Ah there is nothing quite like a beach anywhere in the world, especially at sunset. Giraffes and elephants now that would be fun.

Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?

My girlfriend and I recently started a meal prep business, Core Meals. We heard from so many people that nutrition is their biggest struggle for a number of reasons, so we provide them a very affordable, convenient way to eat healthy. I also spend a lot of time reading and learning about health and wellness.

corywilabyphotography

If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

I would probably tell a story about a person with a very troubled childhood and overcoming their obstacles and hardships. The book would be a timeline of their life and how they reacted to and overcame the struggles.

That is a story I would read or would love to hear one day.

This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?

My fitness routine consists of heavy resistance training 5-7 days per week, sometimes twice a day. Honestly, I don’t really follow a plan. I generally rotate body parts in a 4 day split, and try to push myself while at the gym. I generally do not do cardio unless I’m in show prep and even then it’s minimal. My diet in show prep restricts the types of foods I eat, my caloric intake, cycle my macros according to my training. When I’m not in prep I like to eat a wide variety of healthy foods, I’m a good cook and I enjoy it so I get to be a little more creative with my meals. I generally do not track macros or calories but keep things pretty clean overall. I do like treats though and definitely eat them in moderation when I am not preparing for a competition.

If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?

  1. Nutrition comes before fitness and should be top priority. If you aren’t eating right, you are just spinning your wheels in the gym. I highly recommend an app to log your daily intake, and log EVERYTHING you eat. (I like myfitnesspal) a lot of people are in denial about what they put into their bodies. You can not out- exercise a poor diet.
  2. In the gym, primarily focus on strength training while supplementing cardio. Too many people think cardio is the answer for weight loss or to achieve their desired physique. Cardio is necessary, but in the right amount. Too much cardio can have the opposite effect that most people desire. The after effects of resistance training boost the metabolism for much longer than cardio and the muscle acquired from weight training also increases your body’s ability to burn calories while at rest.
  3. Challenge yourself and push your limits. You would be really surprised by what you are capable of. Most people sell themselves short in the gym and set limits in their head as far as how much weight they can handle, especially women. Lifting heavy does wonders for the female body. If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.

Thank you for that excellent advice. Nutrition is so important. It’s important to eat healthy. Sometimes it’s fine to cheat though. It’s your birthday dinner and the calories don’t count. What’s on the menu and what are you drinking?

It was my birthday a few days ago…I enjoyed sushi, steak, ahi tuna and a grilled pineapple mojito served with a sparkler in it.

Well happy belated birthday! What a fun menu!

Describe the perfect romantic evening:

I would pick her up and we would go to Willow River State Park and hike down to the waterfalls, hand in hand, while having intimate conversation. We would hike around in the serenity of sounds and beauty of the constant flow of water, watching every one of her movements. At some point, take a moment to sit in silence on one of the many rocks while taking each other in. Then we would hike up to the top of an overlook with an amazing view of the natural beauty of the park, talking about life with her in my arms, kissing her neck and shoulders. From there we would head back home and enjoy a candlelit dinner. Afterward we would cuddle up on the couch and watch The Notebook, paying more attention to her than the movie. Talking silently to her with my hands. When the moment was just right, I would kiss her and then carry her up the stairs…

Please share one unusual fact about you or your life:

I was homeless at one point in my life.

I’m so glad you’re not homeless now. What an inspiration you can be to others!

Eight Quickie questions:

  • Watching the sunrise or watching the sunset and the stars? Sunset and Stars

2.) The beach or the mountains? Beach

3.) Primitive camping or luxury hotel? That’s a tough one, probably luxury hotel.

4.) Snow skiing or water skiing? Snow

5.) Favorite movie: Close tie between The Notebook and American Gangster

6.) Best book you ever read: Where the Red Fern Grows

7.) Fav. Sport to play: Basketball, but golf is a close second

8.) Fav. Sport to watch: Basketball

Chase, thank you for visiting with me today. It’s been fun getting to know you. Before we say goodbye, how can fans stay up to date on your latest news? Do you have any news or announcements to share?

Cover Model Corner Interview With Jackson Young

11194891_982352828451233_1311850731_oI’m excited today to be able to share my interview with Jackson Young here on Cover Model Corner.

Jackson is a singer, songwriter, ballroom dancer and choreographer, cover model and actor. Jackson served in the Army 101 st Airborne Division as an “Infantry Scout” 1st of the 502nd. I met Jackson in Nashville at the Weekend With the Authors event and he was gracious enough to agree to an interview with me.

Debra: So, Jackson, tell me about your first cover. How did you get into cover modeling?

Jackson: Randi Alexander actually approached me for cover modeling. She’s doing a three book series called Diaries of a Casanova. That is a true life fiction three book series about a country music singer who is established that doesn’t want their name out there so they wanted to get an up-and-comer that would kind of fall in line with you know what they’re doing to create the realism. So that is how I got started.

perf5.000x8.000.indd

Debra: Awesome. If you could have a cover shoot anywhere in the world where would like you go?

Jackson: Oh wow. We get those kinds of options? I didn’t know that. *laughs* I thought it was out in the yard or something. *laughs*

Debra: Your dream shoot. *laughs* Where’s your dream shoot?

Jackson: I’d have to say Australia. I think the biggest reason why is from my modeling I have different looks. Australia would be awesome because you could do the cowboy thing, the military thing, and the werewolf thing, whatever.

Debra: All right. Australia would be perfect.

perf5.000x8.000.indd

Debra: Tell our readers about a romantic date you would take a girl on.

Jackson: Well, if I could find time for a date. *laughs* I would say my favorite date is I’d pick her up go for a nice steak dinner with wine and then after to the beach or a lake. I’d have to say being out in nature is one of my favorite things. Probably ending the night depending on how personal the relationship is, ending the night with a little bit of whiskey and probably a glass of wine for her.

11145986_10206709014943208_83022230_n

Debra: Snow skiing or water-skiing?

Jackson: No skiing. No, kidding. *laughs* I’d probably say snow skiing because I’ve never done that before so it would be a challenge for me.

Debra: Luxury hotel or camping?

Jackson: Defiantly camping I’m an outdoors kind of guy. To me there’s nothing better than being around the fire.

Debra: Favorite sport?

Jackson: Football hands down. I ‘m an NFL fanatic. I get fired up for football.

Debra: Besides cover modeling tell me what other projects you’re involved in?

Jackson: That might be the whole interview. Laughs. We just shot a music video with OperationTroopAid.org. Music video was released in June. I attended RT Dallas in May, and I’m in Minnesota for another concert in October. Sandy Sullivan invited me to perform in 2016 at A Weekend With the Authors in Nashville.

Cover Model Corner Valentines Day Interview With John Antorino

Valentine’s Day Interview with Cover Model and Actor John Antorino

4bea623020d5e

Today I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day and I hope it is full of all the love and passion you dream of. Now for a Valentine’s Day surprise. Ladies, I’m super excited because I have a special Valentine’s Day treat for you.

John Antorino, the sexy cover model and actor, is visiting here today and has agreed to be an open book for this special Valentine’s Day interview for you. He’s been busy filming so we’re lucky he could fit us into his busy schedule.

Debra: What does Valentine’s Day mean to you?

JA: The thing with me is. When I have someone special in my life, love, affection, passion, romance is shown year round. It’s not just for the day on Valentine’s Day. I am who I am all the time. I’m always affectionate and romantic. I don’t need a certain day for it. And to pretend on that day like many do. Sadly. But yes, Valentine’s Day is nice when you have someone you REALLY love by your side and on this special day show it a little more.

Debra: Do you look for a lady who is extremely fit, like you are? One who is very athletic?

JA60011

JA: No not really. I like a fit woman. But she doesn’t have to be extremely fit and like I am. I actually don’t like women who are crazy into fitness and working out like I am. And I can’t stand muscular women. Not at all.

Debra: Our readers, many who are single, may want to know what you look for in a woman. What special qualities do you seek?

JA: First and foremost she has to be down to earth and fun. Caring and giving. Selfless. Affectionate. Family oriented. Surely not into partying and going to bars and clubs. Not at this point in my life. Pretty, but she doesn’t have to be a model. I prefer cute/girl next door actually. I’ve dated many models and actresses and have to say I much rather have a low-key girl next-door type. Inner beauty means the most to me. More than looks do. Beauty starts on the inside!

Debra: What special qualities do you have to offer her in return?

JA: Everything!! Ha-ha no really. I hate to be asked this kind of question being a humble down to earth guy; it’s hard to answer. But I will. Yes, everything. I cook and clean. Very much a family guy. A complete gentleman always. Open doors always and just a man, a real man in every sense of the word and take care of my woman in every way.

I don’t drink or do drugs or go out with my friends to strip clubs and nonsense like that. Hate bars and clubs. I’m romantic and a passionate lover. A classy guy and when I have a girlfriend she knows she’s loved!!

Debra: Are you single taken just dating or looking?

JA: I am single and dating. Having fun. Definitely not taken. Looking? Hmmmm not really. No. I am just living life and to the fullest. Whatever will be will be.

Debra: Are there any little things you might do to let your lady know you care for her?

JA: For sure!! I’m big on the little things. I do a ton of little things when I have a girlfriend. Leave little notes and cards, flowers at work, cook dinners and breakfast in bed. Surprise gifts. Sweet text messages. Romantic weekend getaways.

Debra: You’ve invited your lady over for a romantic Valentines Day dinner in and you are cooking (I heard you were a good cook). What will you be cooking and or baking? What music is playing? How will you greet her and how do you plan or hope the evening will proceed?

JA: I’m cooking Italian most likely. But could be seafood. Ok, so I’ll go with Italian. But really depends what the lady likes most. I’m first off making my homemade sauce. Then I’m making my homemade meatballs. Main course is chicken parm. Side of pasta. A nice salad. Shrimp cocktail appetizer. And for dessert pumpkin pie with whipped cream and chocolate cake. Then after that the real dessert. Wink wink…… Music playing will be Brian McKnight. I’ll of course greet her with a big hug and kisses. The night will go like this. A nice candle lit dinner and music. Good dessert after with some sexy conversation and eye contact. Then into the bedroom to cuddle up with a good movie. Then lots of kisses……

Debra: Anticipation is half the fun and passion built slowly can be strong and powerful. What is your favorite way to build the anticipation and passion?

JA: Hmmmmmm in person or before getting together? In person I don’t waste much time really. I get right down to business with the passion. Ha-ha. Before getting together the sweet and sexy texts are nice. Flowers and gifts. A lot of talk about what will happen when we get together. For extra anticipation.

Debra: Your Valentines Day dinner and passionate evening went so well now it’s breakfast time already. What are the two of you having and will you be having breakfast in bed or seated together at the table?

JA: Easy one, I’m making breakfast in bed. I make pumpkin French toast and pancakes. So good!! So I’ll make those. With some eggs and homemade breakfast potatoes.

Debra: Since you travel so much it might happen that Valentines Day finds you away from home. How would you and your lady spend Valentines Day away? Do you have a favorite romantic getaway?

JA: Yes I do. If I’m away without my girl and it’s Valentine’s Day, which by the way would be rare for me when I have a girlfriend. When I have a girlfriend I try and be sure we are together. But if not I’d send nice flowers and gifts. Just show her and tell her how much she means to me and that I miss her and wish we were together. And if her and I were to plan a getaway for Valentine’s Day would be one of these places: NYC, Bahamas, Italy, or St. Thomas.

Debra: I am blushing and red asking you these next questions. But your fans want to know. So here goes. Do you like to be in charge and control things when you’re with a woman or do you like her to take charge?

JA: I’m definitely in control and in charge. And I have to say my lady comes first. She is taken care of and shown what passion and bliss is. Definitely satisfied and happy. I make sure of it!!

JAWSHIRT2

Debra: You’re the fantasy of so many women all over the world. But do you have a fantasy yourself?

JA: I have to say I really don’t. I pretty much make things happen in my life. Not a daydreamer and a man that sits around and fantasizes about things and sex and women. If I want it, I go get it and make it happen.

Debra: Favorite love position?

JA: Top. Looking into my ladies eyes and showing her and telling her what I feel. Pouring myself into her. My heart soul passion…

j (165)

Debra: Are you ticklish? If so, where?

JA: Hmmmmmm I don’t know. Maybe I am. I can’t give that away. Haha. Maybe a little. Laughing!!

Debra: Do you enjoy slow dancing?

JA: Yes I do. A lot!

Debra: Do you wear cologne? If so, what kind?

JA: Yes. I wear Versace colognes, Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, and old school and still one of my favs- Calvin Klein Escape.

Debra: It is said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. What special foods would have your heart warming up toward your lady?

JA: Oh yes! But the thing is I usually do the cooking. I love to cook. I’ve had women make me dinners before. And it was nice. Problem is, I am such a picky eater. But to answer your question. Always Italian! And anything pumpkin!

Debra: John, thank you for visiting here on Valentines Day and for getting a little more intimate for our readers. It’s been a lovely Valentines Day treat. Where can we find you next? What movies, covers and interviews do you have coming up?

JA: Thank you for having me. Was fun and my pleasure. You can find me on 2 new shows coming up- “The Knick” and “Escaping the Holocaust”. I am shooting several book covers coming up- “The Protector by Mary Moriarty” and another cover by author Sabrina Devonshire. Also, shooting some ads for a new underwear campaign.

Debra: Do you have a special Valentine’s Day wish for our readers?

JA: Happy Valentine’s Day to all the ladies and everyone out there. Make it a special and sexy day. Full of love, passion, romance, hugs and kisses.

Cover Model Corner Interview With Jeremy Rivenberg

I was fortunate to bump into Jeremy Rivenberg at the Sweet Tea and Chocolate Cake Book Club Anniversary Luncheon in Augusta, GA the first weekend in November and we sat and chatted for a bit about the upcoming holidays and his work as a cover model.

cowboy

Debra – Jeremy, what was the first cover you appeared on and how did it come about?

Jeremy – The first cover I appeared on was Wild Irish by Jennifer St. Giles. The photographer that she had worked with in the past noticed me on a modeling network site and asked me if I would be interested in being on a romance cover.

book cover

Debra – I love the cover you did for A Weldon Family Christmas by Jennifer Saints. The holidays will soon be here. What is your favorite holiday memory?

Jeremy – When I was a kid every year my family would go out to Disney and see all the lights and see all the decorations out there, that’s something I really cherish, seeing the lights and the decorations as a family, just being together.

Debra – So that’s a family tradition then. That’s a great tradition. Is that what you’ll be doing this year?

Jeremy – Probably at some point. As I get older it gets harder. My dad still works down there. My sister has five kids and my brother has two kids. It might not be right before Christmas but some time in December or in January. They don’t take the decorations down until after January first.

Debra – If you were doing something special with a girlfriend for the holidays what would you be doing?

Jeremy – I think around the holidays it’s very cool sometimes to just to drive around and look at the Christmas lights. The decorations give you the Christmas spirit. I’m normally in Florida where the weather is warm. But out at Disney they have where it snows in the streets.

Debra – If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you want to go and what kind of shoot would it be?

Jeremy – Oh man. It would probably have to be somewhere like a tropical setting. I live in Florida so I’ve done shoots on the beach, so anywhere with a beach and ocean setting. Those are my favorite type of shoots.

Debra – Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?

Jeremy – I’m in nursing school fulltime and I also work fulltime for a property management company so that takes up all my time.

Debra – This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?

Jeremy – I just started working out again almost every day. I’m a natural athlete but I’m also in the National Guard so being in the military I have to keep certain standards in my fitness. I like to work out, I like to run, it’s just fitting it into my schedule. As far as nutrition goes, I really don’t like junk food. Cutting out sugar is a huge thing. Like the cake we had today that was pretty much my cheat.

Debra – If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?

Jeremy – Never skip breakfast. Always get in at least 20 minutes a day of some sort of activity that gets your heart rate up whether it be going for a jog or even if it was of a sexual nature that would be okay. It’s never too late to start no matter how old you are.

Cover Model Corner Interview With John Antorino

Cover Model Corner Interview With John Antorino.

John is a cover model, actor, personal trainer, nutrition consultant and a body builder. I was fortunate enough to meet John and his lovely mother in December at Destiny Blaine’s Writers Workshop in East Tennessee and he agreed to an interview. This is a picture of us taken before dinner one evening.

961259_577015762368703_1443356438_n

Debra: Welcome John. What was the first cover you appeared on and how did this come about?

John: Thank you Debra. First romance cover I was on “Dreams of a Raven Moon” I met the author at an event in NYC and she said I want you for my next cover. And so we set it up and made it happen.

Debra: If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you most want to go? What sort of shoot would it be?

John: Well I’ve worked in some great places already and have done shoots of pretty much every kind. I’ve worked in Brazil Italy Mexico St. Thomas Paris London Germany Aruba South Africa. To name a few. Maybe a snow shoot in Alaska? Hmmmmmmm

John

Debra: Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?

John: I’ve been blessed to have a great range and the ability to do a wide range of work. And to work hard to change my look and appearance when need be. I do underwear ads. Fitness magazine spreads and covers. I’m an actor as well so I’m working on TV shows and movies. Working on 2 big projects right now. An HBO series called “The Knick” playing a 1900’s Italian immigrant and playing a German Nazi Soldier in “Escaping the Holocaust”. Also, I am a sponsored endorsed athlete for Muscle Wiz supplement company. Been working extremely hard with it all!!

Debra: Can you tell us a little bit about the new movie you’ve been working on “Escaping the Holocaust”?

Well I’m playing a tough role. Nazi Soldier Pilka. I’ve prepared long and hard for it. Lost weight learned German and their mannerisms attitudes…It’s a real life true story. Really brutal content. But this has a happy love story ending. It’s about a man and a woman that met in one of the camps and were separated and both thought one another died. Only to find each other many years later alive and well. They are still together to this day. Amazing story.

Debra: Who has been your favorite actor to work with so far?

John: Eric Roberts

lobby3

Debra: Now that your acting career is where you are focused will you still be doing covers?

John: I will still do covers. Yes! Tell all your author and publisher friends. Wink Wink

Debra:  What’s one question you wish an interviewer would ask you?

John: Well I’ve always been an open book. So anyone can ask me anything they want. Anything goes. I don’t get a lot of questions about my personal life and women and my dating and sex life. Haha

Debra:  If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

John: My life

Debra: This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?

John: I typically do double gym sessions. I do cardio(treadmill bike elliptical)and abs early in the am on an empty stomach. 6am. Then go back in the afternoon and do my weight training. My diet right now is very clean and usually clean eating for me year round. For the past 10 weeks I’ve been eating chicken, fish, egg whites, and turkey. That’s it! In preparation for my recent work and roles. This is the diet I needed. Lost 25 lbs.

John_152a

Debra: If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?

John: First, Be active…stay active! Go to the gym a several days a week. Walk or run. Do push-ups. You don’t need to be a gym member to be in shape and be healthy. Just be active! Two, drink water. Lots of it! Three, watch your daily fat sugar and carbohydrate intake. And watch eating after 6pm.

Debra: It’s your birthday dinner and the calories don’t count. What’s on the menu and what are you drinking?

John: Italian food. Lots of it! Chicken parm, ravioli, meatballs, Italian bread. And cannoli’s for dessert. And I’m drinking water. It’s all I drink.

Debra: Describe the perfect romantic evening:

John: I’d cook a nice homemade dinner at home. Candle lit. Nice relaxing chill music. Some good dessert. A good movie. Hugs and kisses. Sleep with my arms around her. That’s my perfect romantic evening.

Cover Model Corner – Interview With Scott Nova

Debra Parmley’s Cover Model Corner Interview With Cover Model Scott Nova.

AnneMarsh_SmokingHot

Today on Cover Model Corner I’m pleased to introduce Cover Model Scott Nova. Scott works as a cover model, fitness model, physique model and actor. He also graduated the firefighting academy and EMT school and works part-time as a fireman, while his full time job is in IT. Intelligent, strong, good looking and a hero who saves lives as a firefighter, Scott is a busy man.IMG_1075-Edit

Debra: Scott, thank you for taking the time to do this interview. So how did it all start? What was the first cover you appeared on and how did this come about?

Scott: First cover was for the lovely Cindy Holby and I will forever thank her for it because it gave me the confidence to go after this and make it a small career. The book was Quicksilver by Cindy Holby.

Debra: Thank you Cindy

Debra: If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you most want to go? What sort of shoot would it be?

Scott: Wow, that’s a tough question. J I’d have to say I’d go back to my roots and want to do some country or mountain man stuff. And I’d have to say that the mountains of Colorado would be absolutely inspiring to shoot at. The worst part would be that I wouldn’t be able to take all the photographers with me that have helped me so much through the years. On the other side of the spectrum, if I were to do something exotic, I’d absolutely love to do a shoot in the Roman city and surrounding areas. Amazing!

Debra: There’s nothing like that fresh mountain air and Rome is fantastic.

Debra:

Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?

Scott: Well, first and foremost I adore being a father to my four-year-old little boy, Jacob. My time with him is so precious. I also love spending time with my beautiful wife, Lesley. We do everything together. We found each other and don’t plan on letting go. We like all the same foods, and attractions. We can spend a couple hours in the grocery store and not bat an eye. Although that time also normally includes a glass of wine in the wine section. Lol But I’m a firefighter, so I train a lot and keep my body and mind sharp. I’m also a competitive bodybuilder and so all that combined keeps me pretty busy.

Debra: What’s one question you wish an interviewer would ask you?

Scott:
Most interviews always ask about the industry, and about the physique. But rarely do they ask about me and what I did before thousands of women know my abs on books. Laughing.
But I was a country boy. Plain and simple. I grew up in-between two farms. I rode motorbikes and frequently got suspended from school. I built racecars for street racing with my father and spent many, many nights leaning on the fender of my 1970 Chevy Nova looking for a race. I definitely put some gray hairs on my folks growing up. But I was always there for them. I always came home at night, and I always made time to spend with my folks and my baby brother. He’s not so baby anymore; he’s 32yrs old, but always my little bro. And I don’t get to spend enough time with him now at all. Those are who I really am. I grew up hard working and working hard. I chopped wood and shoveled coal before I could drive a car. My parents are two of the hardest working people I know, and I always just try to always make them proud.

Debra: Now you have me feeling nostalgic about my first car, which was a blue Chevy Nova. I got her up past 100 once just to see what she could do. J I’m sure your family is very proud of all you have accomplished.

Debra:

If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

Scott: I think the book would be a about a greaser growing up in an ever growing population of hipsters that try to look cool hanging with their mini-coopers and overly expensive cars that only see a highway on Sundays when they go to have coffee with like-minded guys. There would be some wrong side of the tracks stuff between the two groups and of course the greaser gets the girl. Lol

Debra: But of course he does.  So a story like a modern day Grease.

Debra:

This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?

sassy

Scott: I don’t get to indulge in the every day foods like most do. I get a couple months out of the year combined that I can really enjoy. But it’s still on my mind. But it’s how I eat, and train is a lifestyle, not a burden. I love how I’ve turned my body around. Before this, I was a skinny fat kid. I had horrible sleep patterns and eating. Now, I’m healthier and stronger. I can be there for my family more, and know that I can protect them. Don’t get me wrong though, I love a good donut and Starbucks just like the rest of you.

Debra: I’ll bet you burn that donut and Starbucks right off though as busy and hard working as you are.

Debra: If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?

Scott:
Sleep! Sleep is so healthy and good for you it’s almost not measurable. It’s when the body heals in every way. To build on that, if you eat real late, your body will just store the food in the form of fat. Eat sooner. If you must eat later, make it a high protein and low index carb meal. To further build on that point, if you consume more carbs and fats that you burn, the body will store them. So keep the carbs to good carbs. Sweet potatoes, oatmeal etc. And good fats such as olive oil and natural peanut butter.

Debra: It’s so rare for anyone to mention sleep when talking about fitness or weight loss and such a key factor in being healthy. Thank you for the tips!

Debra:

It’s your birthday dinner and the calories don’t count. What’s on the menu and what are you drinking?

Scott: Oh snap!!!! Birthday dinner…. well, I’d absolutely love the homemade potpies that Lesley makes. Totally, and absolutely made from scratch and Aaaaamazing. To drink, that would be Anglos full-bodied red that is good for poultry because it’ll be a turkey potpie.

Debra: Your birthday meal sounds so delicious and amazing I’m now wishing I could get invited to dinner.

Debra: Please share one unusual fact about you or your life.

Scott:
Because I live such an alpha life what with the bodybuilding and power lifting and all. Everyone thinks I’ll have a big 100lb dog but I’m reality I absolutely love Min-schnauzers. J They are such cuddle dogs.

Debra: They really are! And they are so cute too.

Once upon a time … Breakfast in Bed with Cover Model Jimmy Thomas … and Cover Model Corner was born.

Once upon a time …. there was a romance author named Debra Parmley who bought some raffle tickets at the Romantic Times Book Lovers Convention in L.A. The raffle set up by International Cover Model Jimmy Thomas was to raise funds for an animal shelter in L.A. and the cause called to her heart.

She bought the tickets, happy to help in her small way, and thought no more about it.

But then, at the big book signing where she was signing her books, something magical happened and Jimmy Thomas drew her name.

She’d won! She had to pinch herself. The prize was breakfast in bed with International Cover model Jimmy Thomas and would involve a photo shoot.

She had to double check her tickets twice to be sure it really was happening. She couldn’t believe it, but it really was. She left her book signing table to report to Jimmy Thomas and to set up the time for the photo shoot. It really was happening! They set the time and she hurried back to her book signing table.

The day came and she was nervous. She didn’t have anything to wear except her regular pajamas which hardly anyone ever saw her in. When mothers hand out advice about always wearing clean underwear they say nothing about being sure to pick out pajamas you might want to wear in the event you are having a breakfast in bed photo shoot with an international cover model. All she had with her was her black and pink polka dotted pajamas. There had been no time to go shopping. So, polka dots it would have to be. She hoped they didn’t make her look like a twelve year old.

Sometimes there is no fairy godmother to spin up a new set of clothing for you so you have to go with what you have and who you are.

So, there Debra was, nervous and wearing her polka dots. She wondered how she would ever be able to eat with the camera clicking away, but soon Jimmy Thomas and his photographer Bruce Heinsius had her relaxing and joking around like the best of friends.

Jimmy also told her he would do an interview with her and she could post it on her website blog.

The interview was such a success, having 5,000 views in a very short period of time, that other cover models began approaching her, asking to be interviewed.

Cover Model Corner was born. Since then she has interviewed many famous cover models and her interviews are often picked up by Affair du Coeur Magazine.

After having two new websites built over the past years, Debra decided to set up a dedicated blog for Cover Model Corner and it launched May 26, 2015 here.

Here you will find new and revisited interviews with the cover models and actors which grace the pages of thousands of romance novels.
